Citigen Tour
An event fpr LCAG SPOCs
Hidden behind two Grade II Listed building façades opposite Smithfield Market, E.ON’s Citigen energy centre spreads across eight floors above and below ground, producing electricity, heat and cooling for buildings across the Square Mile. The UK’s largest urban heating and cooling tri-generation plant, Citigen operates in partnership with the City of London Corporation and generates enough electricity to power the equivalent of over 11,000 homes — all from beneath one of the world’s busiest financial districts. This behind-the-scenes tour offers a fascinating glimpse into the engineering and low-carbon technology keeping London’s Square Mile warm, cool and powered — please note that the tour involves multiple staircases and appropriate PPE and clothing are required.
