Circular economy

“Since the Industrial revolution the use of natural resources has generally been linear. Raw materials are extracted, used but not recycled.”

This guidance note sets out how a circular approach to economic development can benefit businesses, society and the environment. It expands upon the seven “Rs”: Rethink, Reduce, Repair, Refurbish, Re-use, Recycle and Recover. The note identifies some useful sources of information for the reader to access and understand better the opportunities created by a circular economy and how to apply circular-economy practices.
