A presentation and discussion with Climate VC, hosted by the WCIT Entrepreneurs Panel and ‘IT and Climate Change’ working group host. Climate VC fund early-stage start-ups to drive material decarbonisation of the economy and day-to-day life though their fund and syndicate. They see climate change as the biggest opportunity the world has ever seen to invest in change and build the world we want to live in. Climate VC’s mission is to find, foster and fund crazy, unusual and innovative start-ups who want to have a global and gigatonne-scale impact on the climate.
The discussion:
Peet Denny will open the evening with an insight into the Climate.VC Fund, the drivers, ambitions and aims, how his experience can offer some direction, guidance and insights into the key issues. This will be followed by two examples providing key insight into how climate tech start-ups are addressing the climate challenge: Paul Young and Osas Omoigiade, business founders leaders of businesses funded by Climate.VC. Lt Gen Richard Nugee will then offer his view on the strategic imperatives that are driving the Climate.VC approach and their future direction.
