The Livery Climate Action Group will host Gavin Towers of the Fueller’s Company and accompanying guest speaker, Tyler Manchester, from energy commodities trading firm, CF Partners. As an institution, CF Partners has developed expertise in the voluntary carbon market (VCM) over the course of 15+ years, and thus is well positioned to address the topic of responsible offsetting.
Carbon offsetting is one part of a corporate net zero strategy and will play a vital early role in mitigating the ongoing and worsening global climate crisis by facilitating the reduction of net emissions globally. To ensure success in limiting the effects of climate change, responsible offsetting using carbon credits from high-quality projects is imperative.
The seminar will provide an introduction to the voluntary carbon market, outlining:
- the key practices that define the voluntary space and the wider impact that offsetting can have in reducing the effects of the global climate crisis,
- how carbon credit quality can be defined and verified,
- the breadth of projects that constitute the VCM, and
- why carbon offsetting should play a role in every organisation’s transition to net zero.
Tyler states, “I strongly believe in investing in natural climate solutions, as I have a strong passion for where energy, sustainability, climate, social development, technology and finance meet.”
