DESCRIPTION:Director of the Oxford Net Zero initiative\, Prof Myles Allen is hosting a series of lectures focused on Net Zero. \nProf Allen has published about human and natural influences on the climate\, contributing to climate changes and extreme weather risks. \n  \nHis next lecture within the series is on Tuesday 22nd November surrounding the topic of ‘The Atmospheric Physics Behind Net Zero’. \nBefore net zero\, climate policy was all about the contraction and convergence of emissions between rich and poor to achieve\, leading to “stabilization of greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere” at a safe level. But scientists struggled to establish what that “safe” level was\, making little progress in over a quarter of a century.
